New York City Restaurants – Recommendations for January 20th, 2013


This week’s New York City Restaurants include some old classics like Union Square Cafe and Blue Smoke. In addition, users have some other great suggestions for the finest New York City restaurants. Many of the restaurant recommendations this week are for Tribeca, with Max for traditional Italian fare, Tribeca Grill for New American food and Tamarind for upscale Indian food.

Max (181 Duane St., NY, NY. – This traditional Italian restaurant in the heart of Tribeca gets high marks from LocalSpin users who say its the “best home cooked Italian food in Tribeca”. The “small and quaint restaurant” gets “lively on busy nights”.

Union Square Cafe (21 E. 16th St., NY, NY. – this NYC classic has become an institution in New York City and LocalSpin users don’t disagree with some users saying its “one of my all-time favorite restaurants”. Users also comment that its “great food” and “wonderful staff”.

Blue Smoke (116 E 27th St., NY, NY. – Blue Smoke has become a favorite among many BBQ lovers in New York City. LocalSpin users agree with some saying its the “best BBQ I have ever had” and adding that they have “incredible slow smoked ribs with delicious sauces”.

Tribeca Grill (375 Greenwich St., NY, NY. – like some of the other restaurant recommendations this week, Tribeca Grill has also been around a while and attracts a loyal following of diners. LocalSpin users comment that it is “one of the area’s old time stalwarts” and that you “can’t go wrong at this Tribeca institution”.

Tamarind TriBecCa (99 Hudson St., NY, NY. – these upscale Indian restaurants (there’s a second location on East 22nd street) are a favorite among curry eaters. LocalSpin users comment that its “the most delicious Indian” and that “if your significant other isn’t as eager as you are for Indian, this is the place to go”. LocalSpin users say it has “fantastic service” where “waiters treat you like a king”. While the food is “expensive” its worth every penny if “you love Indian”.
